Since I write a blog about the good, bad and funny of online dating, a lot of my female friends send me a lot of their good, bad and funny interactions from online dating.

Most of them falling into the bad and funny categories. Like, when guys send these messages do they honestly think that the women they are sending them to don’t know that these aren’t just copied and pasted messages and sent in masses to lots of different women. They must think they are so fucking clever sending these copy and pasted messages to lots of women a night.

Here’s the good news; There are lots of effective techniques, that have a high likelihood of getting a response when compared others.

And I’m going to share a small number of them with you now. Simply scanning over it briefly, will give you a more natural gut reaction, and make it easier for you to respond to the 1 or 2 things that really got your attention. When you meet a new woman in real life, you don’t analyze her in depth.

Use that scientific discovery to your own advantage, by starting your email with a “Hello [Username]” and not a non-specific “Hi.” If you want to create a feeling of warmth, shorten their name, use its initials, or create a nickname based on one of their interests. Everyone loves to read about themselves, so don’t begin your message by launching straight in about you.

Instead, start by saying what caught your eye about their profile.

They are going to look at you and think, "I need to have that! Are you marketing yourself as the Dolce and Gabbana of the online dating world, or something off the discount rack at T. If you want to attract the highest quality singles online and not just the unwanted leftovers, you need to make sure your online dating profile tells the perfect visual and verbal story of who you are before you even think about sending out emails. Or maybe it's you never-ending optimism and passion for life.

Only after you create a profile that is fully optimized to attract your target audience, will you be ready to market yourself effectively through the emails you write. Before you write that first email and start your marketing campaign, you need to figure out what your most marketable qualities are. Whatever these qualities are, figure out which ones you want to highlight, and make sure they are clear to your audience in the emails you craft. In the online dating world, the subject line is the hook.

It’s actually slightly enraging to read some of these messages that these guys are sending to some of my female friends, only because all I can think is “HOW THIS IS MY COMPETITION!? Especially when I receive screen shots of first messages like the one below : I can’t even. That, somehow they are “beating the system” and not really having to do any work, other than craft a single super generic message and send it out dozens of times.
